When I first started reading Fanfiction, I had no idea what the heck I was talking about.

Over a year later, I decided to try again; still not knowing what the heck I’m talking about.

My Crazy, Beautiful Life

This post is 4+ years old, and it’s under a readmore for a reason. I apologize for anything that makes you cringe. I’m cringing  thinking about what’s below, and now I’m cringing even more thinking of your (completely deserved) reaction. -8/11/17

  1. Oh my gosh I agree with a lot of stuff. Especially the No Plot and Ignoring the Timeline (unless it’s an AU or something)!!

I’m actually OK with OCXCanon shipping, but only if the OC isn’t created solely to be in a relationship with the canon character and the canon character doesn’t have someone they’re already interested in. But it has make sense, and I would never do anything more than unrequited, personally!

One of my personal biggest pet peeves is when the fan art/theory/fiction portrays the characters as WAYYY out of character!! It’s not really a problem in most writing, but when the author has no grasp on a character or just alters them to better fit the plot of their story, it’s so egregious and can ruin a beautifully written piece!!

I don’t really read fanfiction–in fact, most of the stuff I HAVE read is just silly things written by trolls or the like!! But I see a lot of fan art/fan theories, and it really irks me when this kind of stuff happens!!

  2. I don’t read that much fanfic, but man do I feel you!!!

Heh heh, *raises hand guiltily* I WILL GO DOWN WITH THIS SHIIIIP! AND I WON’T PUT MY HANDS UP, AND SURRENDER! THERE WILL BE NO WHITE FLAG ABOVE MY DOOR! (begins sobbing uncontrollably)

Anyway, your thoughts are completely relatable! Like Nireth, I really dislike OOC characters! I mean, honestly, Eponine is not some fragile weakling and Rachel isn’t ridiculously soppy, come on??

But really, in short, yes. To everything.
