I, of course, was forced to wear a skirt and a pair of high heeled death traps to match.

Luckily, I got the ‘honor’ of choosing them, which apparently was supposed to make this situation better somehow. (Not even slightly. But it made my mom happy, so that’s what I’m gonna wear. I’ll get over it.)

I just can’t wait to see everyone else’s dresses/outfits, and maybe my friend had better luck with that self tanner this time.

The only thing that worries me is the fact that I forgot to bring my shoes to practice this morning so I’m really hoping that I’ll be able to get through the ceremony without falling on my face.

Whatever, I’m getting the heck outta Jr. High today!

I seriously didn’t know what to call them.

So, I’ve just discovered that I love to compose. You guys should try it, too!

Like I said two posts ago, my mom and I randomly started watching Doctor Who due to curiosity. We haven’t caught up on the new eps really yet, but we will.

And then, not too long ago, something else made me wonder if your minds are being read.

So my dad put some new songs on my iPod and while I was looking through it, there was an extra album among the new songs:

I went up and asked my dad about the album and he said that he thought it would be something I would like. There were 4 songs in it at first: the first four tracks (Stargazers, Gethessame, Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean, and Sacrement of Wilderness). Something about the album cover looked vaguely familiar to me- I could’ve sworn I saw it before. After listening a little bit, I thought, “This reminds me of something Nirry likes.” I searched Nightwish in the blog, and found that Nirry had mentioned Nightwish numerous times and one of the albums she quickly reviewed was none other than Oceanborn! I ended up liking the music and then asked my dad more about the band. He explained to me about the changed singers, and how there are a ton of albums out by them. Looking through Youtube, I found Storytime and Amaranth, both songs I ended up loving. Dad eventually got me the rest of Oceanborn, Imaginaerum, and Dark Passion Play. Here are some of my favorites from each of these:

Oceanborn:

- Gethesame (I just liked the tune ^_^)

- Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean (the “sung” dialogue was just… wow)

- Passion and the Opera (Also liked the tune)

- The Pharaoh Sails to Orion (the opening had a catchy beat and feel xD)

Deep Passion Play (I just got this one, so I haven’t listened to all the songs from this one yet)

- The Poet and the Pendulum (Wow, just wow. XD)

- Bye Bye Beautiful (I love this song so much. It’s so rock.)

- Amaranth (That song had been stuck in my head for the past week.)

Imaginaerum (there’s a lot of songs I liked from this album o.o)

- Storytime (So much whimsy!)

- Ghost River (It’s both creepy and awesome! And that children’s chorus!)

- I Want My Tears Back (I love this song so much- especially the duets!)

- Rest Calm (I found myself randomly singing the chorus every once in a while XD)

- The Crow, the Owl, and the Dove (It’s just catchy.)

- Last Ride of the Day (Catchy. Again.)

- Song of Myself (I was shocked to hear that I memorized the dialogue from the “Love chapter. Still an awesome song XD)

So yeah. Nightwish. Woo. I figured I’d make a post about something. Has there ever been a time when you think someone else was a mind reader?

Well, I had my interview for my new school on Saturday. It was really scary, but the interviewers made it easy and comfortable. I haven’t gotten the results back yet, but I think I may have gotten in! Yay!

I can’t wait to watch TGG, and also Star Trek: Into Darkness because I think Benedict Cumberbatch plays evil people awesomely. It comes out May 9 in Aus, but I’m not sure about when TGG comes out.

Novel still in progress. -.- 62k words and going on strong. I’m finally up to the Final Battle!

THE GREAT GATSBY MOVIE

SO we read GG this year in English and it was really good!! I loved how descriptive it was so normally I’d be like, “Oh awesome this movie is going to be totally sick!”

But then

they cast Toby Maguire

as Nick

Like nothing against Toby Maguire, he’s a good actor, but he’s just too… wimpy!!

I thought maybe he just acted wimpy for the Spiderman movies but then I saw one of the trailers and?? It just wasn’t right.

Like in the book, Nick was intentionally reserved in his judgement, but he still stood up for himself and what he thought was right!! And like RHGHG JUST TOBY MAGUIRE IT DOESN”T WORK!?!?!?!

Ok so now that’s out I’m looking forward to everything else about it!!

Also I’m TOTALLY obsessed with the song Lana Del Rey sang/co-wrote for it omg

I’m soooo crazy about this song, I especially love the bell that goes off when she says “Young” and “but” and the whole atmospheric feel–it feels so sweeping and grand and UGH!! It just FEELS like a movie song and I love it!!!

The door to a little girl’s room creaked open, revealing a sleeping figure underneath the blankets.

“Should we wake her?” A voice asked, “She looks so peaceful.”

The two figures in the doorway looked at each other. No one spoke.

It was true, the girl was sleeping halfway off the bed, with her hair flung carelessly across the pillow in every direction, and a trail of drool coming from the corner of her mouth.

Maybe, the two thought, they should let her sleep a little longer.

Something else, however didn’t agree with this proposition. A flash of black and white slipped through the doorway and jumped on the bed, landing on the sleeping girl.

“Cookeh,” groaned the seventeen-year-old from beneath the covers.

This little girl was only little in her parents’ eyes, now. She was, in her own words, ‘A mature and completely responsible adult.’ Yeah, right.

Though she could fully control her powers, and reading hieroglyphs came more naturally to her: The school that accepted Allie, Katy, and Cat wouldn’t accept her, because she was(“…And this is only their opinion,” Camille claimed) ‘a lazy half-mortal’.

Which meant it was regular High School for the daughter of Nut. No special classes for each god and goddess, or her own individual training time. Just Honors English and Volleyball practice.

And that’s what she did every week for the nine months of school.

“-And this is why Romeo and Juliet is such a tragic love story…” The teacher droned on.

Of course, no one was paying any attention.

Several students were either texting behind their books or sleeping, and it looked as if the couple in the back might be eating each other’s faces off. Ugh.

Your typical High School classroom.

“Would any of you like to voice your opinion?” The teacher asked.

One half of the previously mentioned couple stood up, walked up to the center of the classroom.

“I don’t think it’s a tragic love story,” He said, adding emphasis with air quotes, “I mean Juliet was, like, what- thirteen? And Romeo was just in love with this other girl a couple days before. Tragic love story my-”

“Thank you, Carter,” The teacher interrupted, “Please return to your seat.”

Carter’s girlfriend snorted, “It’s true,” She said, “When I was thirteen the only thing I cared about was whether or not I was missing the newest episode of Jersey Shore.”

“Camille,” The teacher said, “Anything you’d like to add?”

“Carter pretty much said exactly what was on my mind,” Camille said.

Every day, The teacher wondered how these students ever got into his class.

He only stopped wondering when they turned in their essays.

In the Academy of Ra, the students always wondered what real High School was like.

On Fridays, they were allowed to watch movies or TV after training as some sort of reward, and this is where all of their ideas came from.

“I’m sure they all sing and dance through the hallways,” One claimed.

“On Wednesdays, They wear pink,” Claimed the other.

And this is what they did every weekend that year.

“-And that’s why the story of Isis and Osiris is so tragic…” The instructor droned on.

Very few were paying attention. Several students either doodled hieroglyphs on their papyrus or slept, and then there was that couple that never separated-clinging to each other like leeches on skin. Disgusting.

Another day at the Academy of Ra.

“Would anyone like to contribute to the discussion?” the instructor asked.

No one said anything, they all knew better than to disrespect the instructor. But they were all thinking the same thing, ‘It could’ve been avoided if he hadn’t gotten into the coffin in the first place.’

The instructor always bragged on his students. Always turning in papers on time, being so respectful, but what he didn’t understand were the tiny drawings along the sides of the papyrus.

Except exams and TCAP are approaching really quickly and I don’t even know if I’ll have time to study! I also have this major project I need done by Monday!

The worst part is I STILL PROCRASTINATE!!!!

I’ve spent all my time on Tumblr and currently I am rewatching Vikings. The good news is that Athelstan didn’t die like everyone expected him to. The bad news is that he got rid of his adorable hair and grew a beard. One with a rattail. (collapses to ground in despair)

noOOOOOooo OOO I do not like this new development at all!

The season finale is tomorrow and I’m not ready. Vikings is slowly ruining my life.

It’s been a week of issues, from irrelevant to really relevant. I keep meaning to post, but I usually feel bad if I spam things up here, and my life is pretty crazy/mundane. You’d think that closing in on the school year means relaxation, but…

The best part is that the English TCAP is out of the way and I don’t have to do the Math TCAP. Except my science teacher still drives me bonkers and I still have intense feelings of deep resentment. Along with the urge to stand up in the middle of class and kick over his lab equipment.

One more month! Just one more month!

Anyway, every time I manage to leave the house, my social awkwardness rises exponentially.

On Friday, I went out to eat with my friend and her sisters’ friends. I ordered some sushi, and then the waitress said something else. I didn’t hear her, so I sort of hesitated and just ended up saying “No, thank you.”

I got, like, three sushi rolls while everyone else got their order, plus optional side dishes. And sushi is really hard to eat in public without stuffing the entire thing in your mouth. I managed to spill it all over the table.

I sat there, hungry and awkward as I fumbled with really unnecessarily decorated wasabi.

And then, today, I went with my friend to the Main Street Festival, which is some really big thing with lots of arts and crafts and stands. It was supposed to be fun, but I wore a sweater and it was raining. I was soaked to the bone and trying not to look like the Really Dopey Human from the Black Lagoon.

I stopped at a stand with super neat necklaces! They had dictionary words inside, and I was deciding between “mystic” and “wander.”

I told my friend I had my heart set on buying one and asked the woman selling the necklaces how much it was without the chain. She gave me the price, which was way out of my budget.

A normal person would be like, “Oh, OK,” and leave. I had already told my friend within earshot of the seller that I really wanted one and asked the price, and as you know, I am incredibly awkward. I felt obligated t0 buy it, and I did.

I had five dollars left, and then my friend went and came back with a sandwich and fries for me. Immediately I felt awful and as if I needed to repay her back somehow, so I used my remaining five dollars to buy a giant cup of lemonade for her.

So that’s how I ended up with 67 cents. I don’t have a job or an allowance, which means I have no way of earning money. I spent all my summer job cash on books and this fair. Hurrah.

On the bright side, the charm is really neat!

The whole “post every other day” thing didn’t quite work out. But I’ll do my best to see you in a day and a half!

And then on the 26th, George Jones (apparently the king of country music) died, Dad celebrated his 69th birthday, I passed my test of application to my dream school and have scheduled an interview, and Uncle Francis (whom I’ve apparently met but cannot remember for the life of me) died while on the toilet.

And today, the 27th, Dad has decided to do a 10km run to prove that at 69 he is still fit and strong. And possibly to get rid of some bad feelings about his brother Francis dying. Me and my mum are giving him moral support, though, because 10km is a long way for a 69yo. I run the first and last 2.5km with him, while Mum runs the middle 5km, and I’ve just finished my first 2.5km. I’m now extremely bored and decided to write a short post about nothing particular.

And, Rainfall and Sbcpup, don’t stop writing your NaNo novels!
